Original artwork in paint and thread of the view looking over ploughed fields and the Sussex Downs from Cissbury Ring, West Sussex. Piece is worked over natural fabrics - calicos, silk noil with various found fabric scraps, which are layered to form a textured background and then painted before being free motion embroidered in natural rayon threads.
The view itself was taken on a local favourite walk around the ancient ramparts of the Iron Age fort at Cissbury Ring, with 360 degree views of the Downs hills receding into the background and just these two geometric fields, recently ploughed and standing out like brown corduroy against the surrounding grassland.
Supplied mounted and framed in a bespoke solid oak frame, without glass so you can see and touch the texture and detail.
